Rail City was previously known as the Plantation Casino for around twenty-two years. The Grand re-opening of the casino took place in August 1997. Rail City is located a couple of blocks from the famous Victorian Square in Sparks, Nevada.

Rail City's 20,000-square-foot casino has 428 slot and video machines, nine gaming tables, one craps table, keno, a sportsbook and the Club Car Restaurant & Buffet that seats 250.
