Stephen Ascuaga, executive vice president of marketing at John Ascuaga’s Nugget, said it’s known as the Super Bowl of rib cook-offs. A recent winner, Butch Lupinetti, called it “the Indy 500 and the Olympics all in one.” Local rib-cooker Mike Collins of Maui Wowie BBQ compared three of his wins in past years to “the Triple Crown.”
National Automobile Museum
The National Automobile Collection opened in November 1989 in a sleek, modern structure built and designed specifically for the museum. The 105,000-sqaure-foot facility is located along the Truckee River in downtown Reno.
