Mountain bikers can climb to the next skill level with Northstar’s Dirt Camps, a summer series of mountain bike clinics led by world-class professional instructors at the largest mountain bike park in Northern California.

Amid breathtaking scenery, riders receive tips from some of the sport’s most accomplished instructors. The camps are open to mountain bikers of all abilities and classes are divided according to individual skill levels.

Dirt Camp dates are as follows:

August 28-29

September 11-12

September 25-26

After fueling up with an energy-packed breakfast in the morning, riders hit the trails for some customized skill drills and technique instruction. After refueling for lunch, riders embark on an afternoon ride, where they can put their new skills to the test. The class incorporates demonstrations, personal instruction and photo opportunities along the ride.

Seasoned riders will learn more challenging moves and techniques while those new to the sport will jump start the learning process. Riders are taught in small groups with people of similar skills.

These two-day clinics cost $190 per person and include two full days of instruction, evening activities and all lift and trail fees. Participants must be 15 and older and supply their own mountain bike.

Discounted lodging packages are available for the Dirt Camp clinics. Participants can save up to 25 percent on lodging right at Northstar-at-Tahoe and ride their bikes to the Dirt Camp. Riders are invited to stay in a studio for just $39.50 per person, per night based on double occupancy in a studio condominium.
